***The kitchen contains : HAS BEEN COMPLETELY REMODELED!
a new double-wide refrigerator with filtered water for ice and drinking water.There is filtered water at the sink for cooking and drinking. Across from the kitchen is a storage area containing a small refrigerator, and a modern one-unit washer/dryer combination that does not need standard venting. An air conditioner has been installed in the upstairs window above the stairwell.
The house has been freshly painted inside and out.
Water pumps have been installed in an outside shed for good pressure in the baths and kitchen. The hot water tank and purified water tank are also located in the shed. A small semi-enclosed building on the west side of the house has a built-in bar-b-que grill and shelving.
****we brought down a satellite dish and box from the states and have full cable access, and you can get internet service with mexican "g" card.
*****ACTIVITIES****
About an hour's drive east of Chabihau is the village of Rio Lagartos where you can visit the bird and ecological preserve. To the far east is Cancun, if you need a bigger city from time to time.. . Scattered throughtout the Yucatan are the famous ruins, the largest of which is Chichen Itza, approximately half way between Merida and Cancun. In San Crisanto, a village just west of Chabihau, you can catch a tour to an underground "sweet water" river or cenote and a small ruins area.
*Golf courses are located between Chabihau and Progresso and between Progresso and Merida.
*Lots of water activites available for rental in nearby cities- for snorkeling, sailing, boat tours, deep sea fishing.
***AT the house, birdwatching ( some flying so close you can almost touch them)
-star gazing- incredible view of entire sky, because you are so secluded no competing city lights- would be great to have telescope!
- the upstairs deck, overlooking ocean, is big enough to house a table and chairs and lounge/sunbathing chairs.
-snorkel,kayak, swim -right off your front steps, in seclusion!
***WE ALSO HAVE: a caretaker living in chabihau, whom we pay only $30.00 usd a month, takes care and looks after property when we are away. He and his family have been wonderful in helping with any of our needs, including help when needing hands to remodel house, finding any person you might need help for at a moments notice, almost anything you could need!
